Kathakali Bling was inspired by the traditional and dramatic dance and music of the Indian art of Kathakali. The image was taken from a movie I took of a Kathakali performance in Kerala, India. The image is of one of the male dancers, in a female role, demonstrating the eye and other expressive facial movements that take around six years to perfect.  Using mixed media, I combined soft pastels with craft gems and filigree leaves to highlight the intricate costumes and emotional intensity typical of Kathakali. This artwork is a tribute to the dance’s rich cultural heritage.

Framed Prints

Our sturdy wooden framed posters come ready to hang and are printed on heavyweight white matte paper with a smooth, luxurious finish—designed to stand the test of time:

Packaging

The posters are placed within frames upon arrival. The frames come pre-packed with corners and wrap and then packed in a box with strong edges to protect the frames. I-beams are used in addition, to give the package additional sturdiness and for multi-item orders (max 3 frames in one package).

This premium matte paper is heavier-weight, white, and features a smooth, uncoated finish that feels luxuriously soft to the touch:

  • Paper Weight: 200 gsm (80 lb), thickness: 0.26 mm (10.3 mils).
